I'm a better "Christian" than you, and I'm atheist.

Christians are supposed to follow the teachings of Jesus. Be kind. Be meek. Pay your taxes. Do good things for those less fortunate than yourself.
Where are these lessons in the good old "Christian" right?
They don't exist.
These people tell you to live morally, yet they do not. They tell you to be a good patriot, yet they are not. They preach about the sanctity of the United States Constitution, which they wish to change!
They aren't kind, or meek. They complain about taxation and they hate helping others.
What they ARE is AFRAID.
Old white "Christians" have been the core of US power for CENTURIES. And they've fought sharing that power since the birth of this Nation. They've fought against rights for blacks, women, gays, Jews, atheists. You name it, they fought it.
They are a legacy of hate and fear.
I believe that all men are created equal.
I believe in the privilege of freedom of religion.
I believe that if you work hard, you can have some measure of success.
I believe in education for everyone.
I believe that some people need help.
I believe that people deserve my empathy and compassion.
I believe that being kind is good.
I believe that the Constitution of the United States stands for something that no other nation has, and that changing, ignoring, or removing said Constitution, would make this great Country no better than those that oppress women, religions, minorities and the poor.
That makes me a better "Christian" AND a better American than you.
